How the eleven is picked

The SpotXI Performance formula, applied only to the matches of the week, Monday to Sunday, Paris time.

Every player of the week is ranked from a single match: the formula pulls players with few matches towards the average, so one good match is not enough.

The best of each line, in a 3-1-4-2, each player in one position only. Of the five midfielders, the one with the most tackles won per match plays alone in front of the defence. A hidden profile never appears.

Player of the Week: the most goals and assists combined; on a tie, the best Performance.

A place no player in that position can fill goes to the best remaining player, marked “Out of position”. With nobody left, it stays empty.

The Performance formula
