Stats and leaderboards methodology

What SpotXI stats measure, where the matches come from and how the leaderboards are calculated. No hidden score.

Which matches?

Every match in the archive is a club-versus-club friendly: the Clubs mode that lets you face a chosen club, the one used for matches organised between clubs.

Division matches against a randomly drawn opponent are not covered. These are not official EA Sports leaderboards.

What coverage?

The published archive holds 302,205 players and 73,117 clubs. Editions covered: FC 27, FC 26. Data as of 16 Oct 2026.

The archive does not contain every match played in the world, only the ones it recorded. It is updated by periodic imports, not in real time: the date on each page tells you how recent the numbers are.

Performance

Score out of 100, adjusted for role and opposition. Only usable matches count.

Player Performance qualification: at least 20 usable matches per edition.

Club Performance qualification: at least 20 usable matches per edition.

Each leaderboard’s threshold follows activity: the median match count in the current edition, the 75th percentile in a finished edition and all-time.

Mean of qualified editions, weighted by matches played.

Best performance over a complete edition, retained even when the club stops playing.

Country and platform filters do not change the score.

The club model at the start of FC 27 still needs validation.

Other statistical sorts

Each position has its criteria: goals for forwards, assists for midfielders, tackles won for defenders, saves for goalkeepers. Average rating and number of matches complete every tab.

One match is enough to appear in a totals leaderboard. Average rating needs at least 20 matches, so a single great match is not enough to take first place.

Same value, same rank: 1, 2, 2, 4. On a tie, the player with more matches comes first, then the order stays stable from one page to the next.

Which position?

The game records one position per match: goalkeeper, defender, midfielder or forward. The position shown on a profile is the one the player played most in the selected edition.

Raw numbers and calculated numbers

Goals, assists, saves, tackles won and clean sheets are totals, as the game records them. Average rating is the mean of the match ratings given by the game.

Per-match values and win rate are calculated by SpotXI from these totals, and labelled as such.

Missing data

A “—” marks data the source does not send. It is never a zero, and it enters no calculation.

Gamertags and identities

A profile follows a stable game identity, not a gamertag: after a name change it is the same profile, and the former name stays searchable.

Percentile rank

“Better than 78% of midfielders” compares a value on the profile with players in the same position and the same edition (or all-time) who have at least 20 matches. Only players strictly below count: a tie is not beaten. The rank appears only from 20 matches for the player and 100 players compared; thresholds are recalculated at most once an hour.

Groups

A group is at least five players from one club who lined up together in at least 30 of its matches, whoever else was on the pitch. Only the largest groups are kept: a group that shares at least half of its players with a group already kept is a variant of it, one substitute apart, and is not shown.

A club page shows its three groups with the best win rate, from known scores; a player page shows the groups that player belongs to in the clubs of the edition shown. A match with 0 minutes played does not count. A player whose profile was removed is not named, and a group that drops below five displayed players disappears. Groups are recomputed when new matches of the club come in.

What these stats are not

Not a behaviour score, not a reputation, not other players’ reviews: these stats describe matches. SpotXI is neither affiliated with nor sponsored by EA Sports.

Correct or remove a profile

Email support@spotxi.app with the profile link, even without a SpotXI account. A removed profile disappears from the website, the leaderboards and the app.
